At the Auckland airport recently a lady was surprised to see a Customs' dog sit beside her luggage and refuse to move.

When told that she must have fruit in a suitcase she denied even the possibility. When the inspection was carried out a wee shrivelled up apple was found. The lady was the most surprised of all, remarking that it must have been in there for ages.

Because the detection was made early during the customs inspection she was not fined.

With a sigh of relief the grateful lady gave the clever dog a very friendly pat and went on her way.
