A 33-year-old man was the first person in New Zealand to be recently convicted under the our hated anti-smacking Law.

He was punished with nine months supervision and ordered to undertake parenting and anger-management courses.

This man being a concerned parent, smacked his 8-year-old son three times on the bottom for misbehaving at school.

An almost identical penalty was recently imposed by another judge in a different case, involving both a robbery and a very serious assault charge.

'Fair is fair,' so they say.
