I came across this recently:
OUR SOUL.
Our soul is our intellect, reasoning, will, and personality. The things that make us who we are (separate from the distinguishing characteristics of our bodies).
Some people have humanly acceptable souls and some have despicable ones.
Agree or disagree.

Yes, as I mentioned, ' I came across it recently'. Whether I agree or not is another matter.
We do hear people say, ' She was a dear old soul.'

I don't agree with that. There are good acts and bad acts and everyone does some of both at some point in their lives, some more of one than the other. The concept of being "born bad" doesn't seem right to me. I don't like the term "soul" either as it has religious overtones. "Essence" seems a more fitting term to me.
