Shame!

by skip2468 @ 24/07/08 - 09:20:40 pm

A NZ Judge has forced a nine-year-old's parents to change her name.

The girl originally called 'Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii' , told the judge she was so embarrassed by her name she refused to reveal it to friends. Her lawyer said she feared being mocked and teased.

The Judge temporarily placed the girl in the court's guardianship in February while a new name was chosen. In his ruling the Judge said the name made a fool of the girl, setting her up with an unnecessary social disability.

My comment: To not feel very sorry for this girl would only show that one may be painted with the same brush as her 'parents'.

Great that we feel the same about this matter. As they say, all turns out well in the end.

One only needs to read those few posts here - by accident of course - to realize that undesirables can be found elsewhere other than NZ.

That reminds me, there was this guy called Tom Kissinger, didn't like his name, changed it to Jones, soon got fed up with that and changed it to Smith, it didn't take long 'til he once again changed it, and then changed it again and again.

This gave rise to his friends saying, I wonder who's kissinger now.

Boom Boom.

That's a really good one. More the pity that he was not a she - kissing'er.

I can't believe parents giving their child a name like that! They should have realized it would be embarrassing for her.

Agreed. It's ridiculous. Typical of our society today.
