Right or Wrong

by skip2468 @ 20/07/08 - 04:30:46 pm

My thought for today.

Under endless political pressures we are sacrificing much of our time and effort planning and investing for future generations before adequately meeting current world-wide needs.

In this fast changing world we are probably no more than guessing what the future holds. Will our efforts be appropriate, and even if by chance they are, will they be appreciated and properly utilised?

I am far from confident that they will be and I'm not really sure that many care two hoots one way or the other.

This is a similar theory that dogs me about our work place. We are spending a lot of time carrying out procedures that will improve our service in the future. However, this is to the detriment of the service now. And my fear is that we will so damage the service now that there may not be a future for us to perform all these wonderful new processes in!!

Great that we seem to think very much alike on this one. There could be much more that a little truth in the saying - ' Look after today and tomorrow will look after itself '.

Unfortunately, too many today don't bother to think. Pub time is too precious to waste time doing anything much away from the drinking hole, other than to recover enough for the next visit.

Our local councils have us doing recycling to the point you almost need a degree in order to dispose of household rubbish. But who puts out the least recycling on collection days? Young families with children and yet their rubbish bin is piled high with a lot of stuff they could have put in the recycling. It annoys me because it's supposedly their future we're looking after.

Not unexpected. Laziness with the don't care attitude is becoming more obvious as each day goes by. The politicians demand that we accept same and grind ourselves to death to support such unworthy future generations.

What we had to work hardest for, we appreciated most of all.
