In the USA, authorities arrested a man on Tuesday who is suspected of intentionally starting two wildfires this summer and is considered a person of interest in a blaze started last week that killed five firefighters.
A dog is shot for attacking a person.
If this suspect is found guilty of some or all of the crimes, what would you consider to be an appropriate sentence ? No wet bus ticket thank you.

They once had the public execution of a pig for murder in this country.
There was also a monkey hanged who they thought was a spy.

I think the difference between a dog and a person is that a person can reform whereas with a dog you can never be sure. I'm not defending shooting dogs. Maybe there should be a pound for jailbird dogs.

I don't believe in the death penalty, because of the Gospel - "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".
They shouldn't shoot animals for attacking people unless it can be proven that the animal will always be a danger to people, and could not be trained.

Fair enough - I guess that you are a pure vegetarian. Back in the biblical days they used to catch and eat fish and no doubt other creatures - or am I wrong.

Yes, they did, out of necessity. I'm not evangelical about being a vegetarian, I just don't really like the taste of meat. However, I do think we eat too much meat as a culture, causing health problems. The average 40-year-old American has 7 pounds of undigested red meat in his/her stomach. I think we should use our increased knowledge of food production and nutrition to farm responsibly and eat a more balanced diet.
