QUEENSTOWN - NEW ZEALAND
We spent the first week of our honeymoon in Queenstown, New Zealand. Though it was the beginning of the winter season, the weather was sunny and calm all the time that we were there. We stayed at the top hotel and we were very well looked after.
How sad to leave. We gradually made our way back to where we were to live. We settled into married life, always happily remembering that very special and wonderful first week.

I assure you that my words are completely sincere. Earlier I had some very difficult academic studies to pass and looking back determination and perseverance were essential.
I hope that one day you too will enjoy a wonderful honeymoon, a very special occasion that lasts a life time. Good luck to you and yours.

I've been here, many moons ago. At least, it looks the same place. Does it have a cable car running up the mountain? Views are splediferous!! It was covered in snow when I was there.
Havn't read your blogs yet, so don't know yet if honeymoon was recent. But if it was, congratulations!!!

A cable car? Possibly, though the one you mentioned is called a gondola.

What a beautiful week the happy newly-weds must have had. Any plans to revisit and reminis.....surprise her and organise a trip down memory lane....I bet she deserves it...Lots of honeymooners do just that. Go for it

Ah yes, but this one was exceptional. I have met elderly people - 50 year anniversary couples, who have returned to Sorrento, fo example, to the same hotel even, and loved it, were glad they did go, etc. Remember, you arranged extra special things in a particular style then.

You are quite right. Everything was arranged in a special style back in those days.
In my younger days I was very independent and of course self reliant.
I arranged the whole honeymoon, paid for it all - about 6 weeks wages - then confessed to the bride to be, what I had done.
With no choice she immediately approved and a great time was had - of course!
I am sure that you would have severely reprimanded me lol

Why would I do that? It's hypothetical conjecture that - I wasn't there and it was... nowt to do wi' me.

Pro There is a very slight resemblance to Bergen, Norway! This is the kind of panoramic view one sees from the top of the funicular railway there.

A very interesting observation because in the winter Queenstown is covered with snow at times.
I am very envious of all the interesting travelling that you enjoy. In comparison we are very isolated 'down under'.
