Seems that we may be close to our first winter frost tonight. Only early evening at 7.30pm and the temperature is already down to 7C and still falling.
All of NZ is feeling what comes with a very cold front from the Antarctic. Plenty of snow in The South Island and some highways in the centre of the North Island have been closed.
How is your weather treating you at present?
ADAM - when he was four - our first G/Grandchild - now 7 and living in Australia - keep on smiling !

The weather is variable... it's wet but the sun is trying very hard to peek through the clouds, reaching a high of only 15 or 16 and forecast to be similar all week.

Update: The sun failed to break through and it has been rainly consistently for the last three hours with no sign of it abating. what ever the temperature is, it still feels cold to me!

You should pick up one of the cheap indoor and outdoor thermometers, which also give maximum and minimum. I have one here which came in my Christmas stocking!
The present outdoor temperature (8.30 am) is 7.6C and the minimum overnight was 1.6C, fairly close to our first frost !
*laughs quietly and triumphantly* its cold, damp, and overcast, oh and there is a bit of a sea fret! lovely photo! my mum says if she had known how wonderful grandchildren were she wouldn't have bothered with us

Enjoy your pictures!! What an amazing rainbow and lovely Adam!! I can´t imagine the cold and frost as we are just starting to get hot and sweaty and horribly summery!! Enjoy your cold (maybe we could swap a bit over the net?)

Rather strange regarding the extremes of temps. In summer I think that it much easier to get warm in winter. In winter I think it is much easier to get cool in summer - just a human frailty maybe ?

Yes, we are supposed to be living it a temperate zone so I guess we had better just make the best of it - lol
