Have just been searching ' Help ' and ' FAQ ' once more but to no avail
Was hoping that by now after the many enquiries made, all would be explained regarding how 'Top Tags' And 'Top Blogs' are arrived at
Maybe we are not meant to know

well, being a bear of very little brain i couldn't see the point of tags, and felt my list was getting too big, so i stopped tagging myself, i can see the point of interest tags - if you are looking for someone likeminded or whatever. i just assumed the top blogs were the ones that were most viewed in a certain time period. but what do i know?

Have no doubt - you know as much as any other blogger or should I be politically correct by saying you know as much as possibly every other blogger - X is always the unknown quantity or number lol lol lol

I am sure I have answered this question for you before?
Top Tags are the tags most used in twenty four hours for instance the blog that has mental health on its tags,of which I thing there are maybe ten,if those blogs are posted on regurlarly then the tags are seen regurlarly and registar.
The top blogs is simpler it goes on amount of page views + visitors+comments.

Can the views, visitors and comments be seemingly endless repeats to the same blog posting by another blogger?
We have seen hundreds of comments on a single blog by the same blogger coming back and forth, which is plainly stetching things if that scores!
I attempted to get the information from Administration long ago but never received a reply. I wonder if your information is from the Administration?

The comments will registar so if you have a blogger conversing with another blogger and they get to a hundred comments then yes that registars but the amount of visitors will only be one as you yourself dont registar as a visitor.A few of us have experimented with this to see how it works and this is how we have worked it out,your visits to your own page dont count,your visitors count but only as new visitors so if the person you are conversing with comes onto your blog ten times it will only registar once.If the comments are many then it does put you higher,but,if the person above you had less comments they have had probably twice as many page views.It doesn`t always go on how many comment.
To me the top twenty doesn`t matter,yes it is nice to see yourself up there every so often,but the important thing is interaction with other bloggers,even if that means going on to their blogs and communicating instead of yours.

Yes, I have observed all that you describe. I have also observed how some beat the system by suddenly disappearing and coming back again soon after, providing another blogger has made a comment or two - and so it goes on for hours and hours.
If there are loop-holes that make any competition unfair surely it is better to close all known-loop holes or shut down the competition altogether - anything for fairness and happiness.

That would only work if they were using a different computer the visitors are registered by thier IP numbers not their blog names. So it isn`t a loophole and if people think it is then more fool them,the Top Twenty like everything else is just a bit of fun and should be treated as such.

After much more checking around there is no d0ubt that it is a glorious mixture of keeping to the rules and subjectively ignoring same, according to personal likes and dislikes - oh for a pretty smile etc. - what could be more fun to both parties - lol
